On Sunday July 29 Cameron Murcutt (Cam Merky) will fight Brad Russel in a full muaythai rules bout at PAMT II promoted by Darren Curovic (Interview).

Training

I have started when I was a kid, it was on and off that’s probably why my hands are good. I have a trainer that pushes me to the limits. I have trained mostly at one gym which is Fierce Fighting Academy. A lot of pads, drills , grappling, knees checks, running up hills, sprints, weight vest, ankle weights, weights round wrist… But also been sparring some quality guys from all over Perth, present and past champs… My fitness is through the roof, I have trained 3 months straight Thai and boxing. As im a full time MMA fighter I have cut the ground stuff out. Everyone round me has been great and supportive as I was gonna quit fighting start of this year.

Experience

My MMA record is 5 wins & 3 losses. Kickboxing is 2 wins & 1 loss. I have also had 4 C-class shooto fights.

My 1st thai fight was against the guy who had like 28 fights, I beat him on decision. The second one I fought was n9 IK Ranked and the third was Alex Moppa James who is the WKN World amateur kickboxing champion and WMC Australian champion after he defeated Gas Rees few months ago.

I’ve fought at like 4 different weight divisions from super heavy to middle weight.

Opponent

Brad Russel has been training a very long time… I believe possibly 10 years plus. Record of 10 fights 7w 3 losses. Trains in Thailand quite a bit… Gonna work the high kicks more than likely. Brad likes to bang on big punches, got power in hands. But I also believe my boxing is up to scratch. I have worked every situation and I’m aware and waiting for what ever Brad has to offer.

Motivation

I never wanna give up, wont stop till I’m KO’d. It’s my background – growing up in the bronx of Perth taught me a lot. I fight cause I meet good people. Self discipline, travel, get respect, test the boundaries. I’ve got a good fan base & would like some sponsors though.

Goals

I want to win a belt in every discipline: Boxing, MMA, Kick Boxing. Also to get my black belt in BJJ and maybe a rematch with Moppa, will try to fight for the belt he has taken off Gas Reez.
