On Saturday March 9 in Gold Coast, Australia – Worlds best muaythai heavyweight Nathan Carnage Corbett will fight for his 10th title against Dzianis Hancharonak from Belarus.

muaythai news

Corbett and Hancharonak were in one group in a Muay Thai Premier League tournament and were possibly meant to fight each other in 2011 in USA. But the promotion group collapsed.

Hancharonak trains at Patriot Gym in Minsk, Belarus, coached by the first muaythai World champion of former USSR – Dmitry Pyasetsky.

Corbett’s last fight was a victory against arch-rival Steve “The Smashing Machine” McKinnon last September.

The 33-year-old Carnage said Hancharonak would be a different proposition to McKinnon.

“He’s an absolute gun. He’s only about 24 years old but he’s a big boy — an all-round fighter. He’s got everything covered. He’s got more weapons and he’s definitely a lot cleaner and more of a technician. You can never say anyone is tougher than Steve because he’s a pretty tough dude but this guy would be just as tough.”

Nathan Corbett meant to fight in Melbourne last month but the fight was cancelled. His opponent Falin pulled out in the last minute due to health issues.

“It was a weird feeling because you get your game on and get in the zone. I was driving to the fight and then the promoter called and said there’s no fight. But I’m injury free now and moving on.”
